Todtnauberg is a high-altitude health resort in the Black Forest; it has no through traffic and has been renowned since the 1930s for the quality of its air and its favourable climate. It was this climate and the exceptional peace and quiet that brought the world-famous philosopher Martin Heidegger to Todtnauberg; it was here that he wrote his best-known work “Sein und Zeit” (Being and Time).
